Spring 2014 Update

Whew…  Talk about a long winter with lack of website updates.  Record cold temps really put a damper on thoughts of fishing over the last 3 months but with this recent warm spell, I cannot keep my mind off it.

So what’s new?

  • KevinLast week Kristie and I welcomed our first child into the world, Kevin Bauer.  Getting the house ready and preparing for his arrival has kept us busy over the last couple months.  Kevin is only 1 week old, but so far – so good, and I cannot wait until he’s old enough to join me in the boat.

  • AIM Weekend Walleye Series.  This year Dad and I have decided to fish the AIM Weekend Walleye Series MN Division.  This is a brand new walleye tournament circuit that features affordable entry fee’s, the AIM proven CRR (Catch Record Release) method, and state specific locations.  We’re very excited to step out of our comfort zone and fish some new body’s of water that neither of us have ever fished before as well as have the opportunity to compete on more familiar body’s of water like the Mississippi River and Lake Mille Lacs.  You can read more about the new AIM Weekend Walleye Circuit >>here<< and I’ll be sure to keep you updated as time goes on.

  • Limit Creek Rods!Gear!  One change I’ve made for this year is my rod selection.  Over the last couple years I’ve been using Limit Creek trolling rods with great success and this year I’ve decided to convert a lot more of my arsenal to the Limit Creek line.  Limit Creek Rod Company offers a rod to compliment every walleye anglers needs from casting, bottom bouncing, trolling, and rigging.  These rods offer superior sensitivity for the money and will allow me to keep consistency between my like setups.

That’s my quick update – I’ll be sure to update more often now that things are starting to get into full swing.
